Aim of the course
The aim of this course is to train candidates in the skills and knowledge required to
familiarise participants with the safety requirements relevant to the use of Lightweight
Mobile Towers including Erection, Dismantling, Moving and Inspection of the towers.

Aim of the course
The aim of this course is to train selected people in the skills and knowledge required to
familiarise participants with the safety requirements and knowledge relevant to the
erection, usage, dismantling of system scaffold equipment and the inspection of this
equipment.
Course Contents
- Identify their legal duties under health & safety legislation.
- Identify the correct scaffold equipment required for a task and the safe use of the
equipment.
- Be able to identify hazards and control risks relevant to scaffold erection / dismantle
process.
- Types of scaffold
- Scaffold erection, dismantling and erection.
- Written test
Information
This course allows basic scaffold structures to be built to a platform height of no more
than 5 metres.
This course does not make candidates qualified scaffolders. It is an awareness course for erecting / dismantling of basic scaffolding structures.
The structures are towers, independent and birdcage scaffolds.
There is both theory and practical sessions with max number of candidates of 10.

The aim of this course is to train selected people in the skills and knowledge required to
familiarise participants with the safety requirements and knowledge relevant to the
inspection of scaffolding equipment.
Course Contents
- Identify their legal duties under health & safety legislation.
- Identify that the correct equipment is being used.
- Be able to identify hazards and faults in a scaffold structure by inspection.
- Record the findings in a suitable manner.
- Demonstrate to colleagues how to resolve the problems
- Written test

This course allows inspection of basic scaffold structures, but the candidate should not
inspect structures which they are not competent to inspect.
There is both theory and practical sessions with max number of candidates of 10.
